Privacy policy

We built Somedays so you can save places, plan trips, and keep your inspiration organized — without feeling like you’re being watched. When you use the app, a small amount of information may pass through our systems (for example, when you paste a link or turn on optional sync). This page explains what that involves, what stays on your phone, and what you can always do about it.

In one sentence: Your places, collections, and trips live on your device unless you turn on sync or sharing. We use product analytics to improve the app, but we don’t run ads or ad trackers, and we don’t sell your data.

Our principles

What we collect

Your account. You sign in with Apple on iPhone or with Google on Android. We receive an account identifier and your email address. With Apple, this can be a private relay address if you choose “Hide My Email.” We never see your password.

Links you submit. When you add a link, our server fetches that post’s video and caption and uses AI to find the places mentioned. We keep a record of the link and the places found, linked to your account. We use it to load repeat links instantly, apply fair-use limits, and fix extraction problems.

Cloud data (sync and sharing). If you use Pro sync, your places, collections, and trips are stored in our cloud database so you can use them on other devices. If you share a collection or trip, the people you invite can see its contents and your display name. Your display name is your name if you’ve given one, otherwise the first part of your email address.

Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used. This covers things like app opens, which features get used, and whether an extraction succeeded. These events are tied to your account ID. They don’t include the content of your places or notes, and we don’t record your screen.

Payments. Payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to keep track of whether your subscription is active, so RevenueCat receives your account ID and purchase history. We never see your card details.

Your location. If you allow it, the Map shows where you are and opens on places near you. Your location is used only on your phone. It is never sent to us or stored.

How we use it

We use this information only to run and improve the app: finding places in links, syncing and sharing your library, managing your subscription, understanding which features work, and replying if you write to us. We don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t build a marketing profile of you.

Services we rely on

These companies process data on our behalf, only so the app can work:

Each one handles data under its own privacy policy.

What we don’t do

Your choices

On your phone. You can delete all local data from Settings, or export everything as JSON first if you like a copy.

Your account. Delete your account in the app (You → Settings → Delete Account) or from this page. This permanently removes your account, your synced data, and your record of submitted links from our servers.

Location. You can turn location access on or off at any time in your phone’s settings.

Kids

Somedays isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Keeping this page honest

We take care with how we handle data, but no online service is perfect. If we ever change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update the date at the top of this page so you can see what’s new.
